Khanna Calls for Justice Following Prince Andrew’s Title Stripping
Representative Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) expressed on Thursday that former Prince Andrew, recently stripped of his royal titles by King Charles III, will face justice for his associations.
The king’s younger brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, lost his royal status due to his ties with convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein.
“Thanks to the courageous survivors of Epstein’s abuse, justice will come for Andrew,” Khanna stated on social media. “If you were involved in abusing children alongside Epstein, justice is inevitable. That’s what I’m fighting for, and we won’t stop,” he added.
Khanna also released a statement from Buckingham Palace, which indicated that Andrew would be relocating from his Royal Lodge in Windsor to “private accommodation.”
“These measures are necessary, even though he continues to deny all allegations against him,” the statement said. “Their Majesties wish to express their profound sympathies to all victims and survivors of abuse.”
Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) described the developments as a “victory for the victim” in his own post.
However, Massie also pointed out that wealthy individuals in America seem to enjoy protections that go beyond even those of the British royal family. He criticized House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) for maintaining a recess to avoid a vote on releasing Epstein-related files, labeling it as not a trivial matter.
In September, Khanna and Massie initiated a motion demanding that the Justice Department publicize files and information concerning Epstein.
Incoming Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.) is among those who have pledged to support this initiative. Although she won a special election to replace her father in the House, she has yet to be sworn in.
Grijalva’s endorsement marks the 218th signature needed for the petition to advance. Her backing will push the bill into the full House, opposing the sentiments of Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) and other GOP leaders allied with former President Trump against the bill.
Massie has frequently criticized Trump’s actions, alleging that some Republicans attempt to protect powerful individuals to avert damaging disclosures.
Last month, he mentioned, “I don’t think Mr. Trump was directly involved. However, I believe he is trying to shield his wealthy friends, which is the reason this information remains under wraps.”
