Rob Gronkowski harshly criticizes the Chiefs: 'They're going to fall apart'

Gronkowski Critiques the Chiefs’ Performance

Rob Gronkowski has some critical thoughts on the Chiefs, suggesting they have vulnerabilities. The former four-time Super Bowl champion believes the Eagles effectively exposed these weaknesses during last season’s Super Bowl, creating a strategy for other teams to follow.

He remarked, “The Philadelphia Eagles showed that if you really go after them, they tend to falter. They won’t play like the dominant team you’ve been seeing throughout the year,” as he discussed this on Fox Sports’ “Up & Adams.”

The Chiefs had aimed for a historic third consecutive championship but faced a significant defeat against the Eagles, losing 40-22, a game where Philadelphia was ahead 40-6 with just three minutes remaining.

Things didn’t get better for Kansas City in their season opener, losing to the Chargers 27-21 on Friday in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Defensive tackle Chris Jones and linebacker Drew Tranquill were left frustrated as Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert made crucial long runs when the game was on the line.

Gronkowski noted that he was surprised to see the team starting to turn on each other when things went south, saying, “When they struggle, you can almost feel the tension. They start yelling at one another; it’s clear that blame is being passed around. That’s not what you want to see.”

He added that “it’s not a good sign” when players start pointing fingers.

In the victory for the Chargers, Herbert completed 34 of 25 passes for 318 yards, recording three touchdowns without any turnovers.

As for Patrick Mahomes, he completed 24 of 39 passes for 258 yards, with one touchdown pass and another rushing touchdown. He was the leading rusher for the Chiefs, totaling six carries for 57 yards. Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt contributed with five carries for a combined 41 yards.

The Chiefs will have a chance to redeem themselves against the Eagles again this Sunday at 4:25 PM in Kansas City, before heading to face the Giants in the third week for a “Sunday Night Football” matchup.
