Theft of Pokémon Cards in Anaheim

In an early morning robbery, thieves made off with approximately $180,000 worth of Pokémon cards from Do We Collectibles in Anaheim, as reported by local news sources.

Around 3 a.m. on February 18, four individuals reportedly broke into the store by smashing the glass door of an adjacent insurance office and then creating an entry through a shared wall.

Once inside, they destroyed display cases and specifically aimed for high-value trading cards, some of which held price tags of at least $10,000. This marks the second break-in at the store within the past six months, according to reports.

Anaheim police have not yet provided a comment on the incident.

Vincent Bui, an employee at the store, suggested that the thieves had likely scouted the area ahead of time. He mentioned, “They came during the day and seemed to know the layout well—where the display cases were and what our vulnerabilities were.”

Interestingly, one of the suspects dropped an unlocked mobile phone inside the store, which could potentially help law enforcement in their investigation.

The suspects reportedly fled in a dark sedan after grabbing hundreds of trading cards—an operation that took them under ten minutes. Duy Pham, the store owner, noted the sheer volume of the theft, stating, “They took so many single cards; it really adds up… All the display cases were emptied.”

It’s worth noting that Pham had installed surveillance cameras and various security measures, anticipating the possibility of such an event. “In this business, we feel we have a target on our backs… It’s hard to rest easy knowing there’s a chance of being hit again,” he expressed.
