In Memory of Robert Carradine
Robert Carradine, known for his roles in “Revenge of the Nerds” and “Lizzie McGuire,” has passed away at the age of 71. He came from a notable Hollywood family and leaves behind a legacy that touched many.
His daughter shared on Instagram, reflecting on their unique upbringing: “Growing up with a single father in Laurel Canyon during the ’70s and ’80s didn’t exactly scream normal, but somehow it was. When people ask how I turned out this way, I point to my dad. He loved me deeply, and I always felt secure with him. My father was a lover, not a fighter—someone with integrity. In times filled with conflict, we should all open our hearts to his teachings and share love.”
Martha Plimpton expressed her sorrow, remembering Carradine fondly: “Uncle Bobby was the best out of eight brothers—blood, adopted, or step. He was the one who welcomed me when I first visited my dad in LA as a kid. And honestly, he was an incredible actor; just look at his work.”
Hilary Duff also shared her thoughts, commenting, “This is so heartbreaking. It’s tough to come to terms with the loss of an old friend. The warmth of the McGuire family felt genuine, and I will always cherish the care I received from my on-screen parents. It’s painful to think Bobby was suffering. My heart goes out to him, his family, and everyone who loved him.”
Jake Thomas, a fellow cast member from “Lizzie McGuire,” added, “My heart aches. I had the privilege of knowing Bobby for most of my life, and he was genuinely one of the coolest people I’ve met—funny, relatable, sometimes moody, and just a bit quirky. He was immensely talented, but more than that, he was a family man. I always looked up to him, and it turns out he thought highly of me too, which means a lot.”
Keith Carradine, Robert’s brother, said in a statement, “He was incredibly gifted, and his absence will be felt daily. We find comfort in remembering his humor, wisdom, and the way he embraced life with acceptance and forgiveness. He was my baby brother.”
