The No. 2 NFL team is scheduled to interview with Robert Saleh for the head coaching vacancy.
The Raiders, who fired Antonio Pierce on Tuesday after just one season as head coach, are scheduled to interview Saleh. According to Pro Football Talk.
Saleh is also scheduled to interview with the Jaguars.
The Jets fired Saleh in October after the team fell to 2-3 with a loss to the Vikings in London.
Saleh, 45, finished his three-plus year stint with the Jets with a 20-36 record.
The Jets finished the remainder of the 2024 season with a 3-9 record under interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich.
Since then, Saleh has worked as a consultant for the Packers under his friend head coach Matt LaFleur.
Las Vegas went 4-13 this season under Pierce and 5-4 for the remainder of the season as interim coach after taking over for coach Josh McDaniels midway through the 2023 season.
The Raiders' opening is perhaps the most interesting of the six NFL head coaching hires.
NFL Network reported Wednesday that Raiders minority owner Tom Brady “recently” reached out to longtime Patriots coach Bill Belichick about a possible reunion in Las Vegas.
The 72-year-old Belichick has made a spectacular move up the college ranks, taking the head coaching job at the University of North Carolina last month after spending this season doing some media work after parting ways with the Patriots last year.
However, Belichick has no plans to leave UNC for an NFL job, The Athletic reported.
Former Belichick player Mike Vrabel, who took a year off after being fired by the Titans last January, is a leading coaching candidate.
With the Patriots firing Jerrod Mayo after just one season, he could be in the middle of a tug-of-war between former quarterback Brady and former owner Robert Kraft.
