Robert Saleh speaks out after abrupt Jets firing

Robert Saleh wrote a classy farewell letter to the Jets.

Saleh, who was reportedly “blindsided” by the team's decision to fire him on Tuesday after a 2-3 start, issued a statement on Wednesday thanking the team.

“Thank you to everyone at the Jets organization for the opportunity to work with so many great people,” Saleh said. “We would like to thank everyone at 1 Jets Drive for their continued love and support.

“Dear players, I truly love and appreciate each and every one of you. Coaching you has been the greatest privilege because of the character of the players in the locker room. Through all the ups and downs. , each and every one of you showed up every day and attacked every moment.”

Jets owner Woody Johnson made the shocking decision to fire Saleh after a disappointing start to the season.

Johnson warned the 45-year-old about the decision after arriving at the Jets' facility for Monday night's game against the Bills, which will decide first place in the AFC East.
