The Jets moved Aaron Rodgers back under center, but he still looked lost for much of the night.
Rodgers (13-of-21 for 167 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception, 82.8 rating) showed flashes of his former force at times, but he was unable to move the ball for long stretches.
The Jets were unable to sustain drives, running just 49 plays.
Running back Breece Hall (16 rushes, 54 yards, one touchdown, five receptions, 39 yards) struggled to find space to run behind the revamped offensive line and committed a crucial fumble early in the game.

When the news broke that Christian McCaffrey would be unable to play, the initial reaction was that it could be a big night for the Jets defense.
Instead, reserve Jordan Mason rushed for 147 yards and one touchdown on 28 carries.
The Jets allowed 401 yards to the 49ers, couldn't get off the field on third down, the 49ers scored eight straight points, and the pass rush was nonexistent.

Special teams
Thomas Morstead may have been the Jets' best player in the game, as he punted 60 yards and turned the game around for a time.
The Jets didn't get much out of their new kickoff return.
Xavier Gipson's longest return was 28 yards.

Coaching
The Jets clearly looked like the underdog team on Monday night.
The 49ers are a good team and the Jets should be good as well, but it looked like JV playing against varsity.
Robert Saleh has to find the answers and fix things.
Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett has also struggled to inspire confidence under Rodgers.
The Jets lost to Kyle Shanahan.
