Rockets attempt to troll Warriors, lose by 23

The NBA regular season is coming to an end, and play-in competition is heating up, especially in the Western Conference. The Golden State Warriors have struggled most of this year, and entered Thursday in 10th place for the final play-in spot. Who are their opponents? The Houston Rockets had advanced to this game, but finished in 11th place looking to make it to the play-in.

Of course, this led to some shots being thrown at the Warriors by a young Rockets team looking to take over one of the defining NBA franchises of this decade. Rockets forward Tali Eason did most of the Golden State jokes, especially on Instagram. From Eason’s Instagram on March 27th:

Poke the bear and hit it on the head with an ACME hammer. Eason knew he was taking a shot at the Bay Area, and all the Warriors had to do was react.

So…they picked up that ACME hammer on Thursday and rolled it over and over again to the Rockets, making sure the Rockets got the message. Golden State defeated Houston 133-110, giving them a four-game lead over the Rockets with six games left in the regular season. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined for 58 points, and although he didn’t play, it spoke volumes about Eason, who wore the shirt during the game.

Curry alerted the Rockets when the game was coming to an end, overriding Eason’s instructions and forcing Houston to take the shot.

Thompson vented his anger after the game, sharing his thoughts on Eason’s antics.

The lesson here is: Don’t be a troll when you’re not at the game. Because retribution can be even more brutal.
