The NBA’s crazy night didn’t end with a blockbuster from the Knicks’ Mikal Bridges.
The Brooklyn Nets traded their 2026 first-round draft pick to the Houston Rockets for the Phoenix Suns’ 2027 first-round draft pick. Houston can also trade their 2025 first-round draft pick for Phoenix’s.
The capital exchange proposal is Houston works hard to acquire superstar forward Kevin DurantAccording to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
“They are [the Rockets] The Suns could give the pick they gave up in the Durant trade back to the Nets. Insider Explains.
But Wojnarowski noted the Suns are keen to give it another go with Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, so the Rockets may have to decide whether to wait a year before making a big splash.
Phoenix’s Big Three was soundly defeated by the Timberwolves in the first round of the playoffs last season, after which they made the major blunder of firing head coach Frank Vogel and replacing him with former Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer.
Given the salaries of these players, it will be difficult for the Suns to make significant changes to their roster this offseason.
Durant, 35, has been an All-Star in 14 of the past 15 years, averaging at least 25.1 points per game during that time and leading the league in scoring four times.
Meanwhile, Houston went 41-41 last season and narrowly missed the play-in tournament, but they have plenty of draft picks and young players.

With a strong young core that includes Alperen Sengnen, Jalen Green and Jabari Smith Jr., not to mention Houston’s No. 3 overall pick in Wednesday’s draft, plus veteran standout Fred VanVleet, a big-name addition like Durant could make waves in the West.
The news of Durant’s move to the Rockets was a subplot in a larger basketball story in which the Brooklyn Nets sent forward Mikal Bridges to their city rivals, the Knicks, for Bojan Bogdanovic and significant draft capital, including four unsecured first-round picks.
The NBA offseason has just begun, and there’s clearly no shortage of storylines to watch throughout the remainder of the summer, including whether or not Durant will move to Houston.
