Rod Stewart Cancels Concerts Due to Health Issues

Rod Stewart has announced the cancellation of several upcoming concerts for health reasons. The 80-year-old rocker shared on Saturday his decision to call off four shows and postpone two, which were set to take place in Nevada and California. This announcement comes after he was diagnosed with the flu earlier this month.

“I’m still recovering from the flu, so unfortunately, I need to cancel and reschedule the next six concerts in June,” Stewart wrote on Instagram.

He expressed regret for the inconvenience to his fans, saying, “I’m really sorry, my friends. We truly apologize for the disruption caused. We’ll be back on stage soon.” The affected performances include shows at the Colosseum Theatre at Caesars Palace on June 7, 8, and 10, as well as a concert at the Lake Tahoe Amphitheater in Stateline, Nevada, on June 14.

Stewart has rescheduled the June 12 concert in Rancho Mirage, California, to September 20, and the June 15 show at Paso Robles, California, will now take place on September 21.

Prior to this, he had already canceled a performance on June 5 at Caesars Palace due to health issues. “I’m truly sorry for having to cancel my show at the Colosseum,” Stewart mentioned online. “My doctor advised me to take a bit more rest as I recover from the flu. I really appreciate your understanding and support.”

Just hours before a scheduled performance on June 1, he had to inform fans about feeling unwell. “Unfortunately, I’m not feeling great. My shows at the Colosseum are still on schedule until June 10,” he noted. “Tickets will be honored for the new dates.”

Looking ahead, Stewart’s next planned performance is at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK on June 29, where he is set to become the oldest artist to ever perform at the event. However, concerns about his health have raised questions about his participation, especially considering the lineup that includes Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo.

Despite facing health challenges, Stewart previously indicated his intention to step back from touring next year. “This will mark the end of a significant world tour for me, but I’m not looking to retire,” he stated in a social media post. “I love performing and I love what I do.” He also joked about his fitness, claiming he can still run 100 meters in 18 seconds, which is pretty impressive at his age.
