Rod Stewart postpones 2 more shows after canceling 200th Las Vegas show

“Unfortunately, Rod Stewart’s concert tonight in Stateline, Nevada, and his performance in Lincoln, California on August 10th have been postponed as the singer is recovering from a summer strain of COVID-19,” the statement read.

“The concert at Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, California has been rescheduled to August 18th, and the concert at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys in Stateline, Nevada has been rescheduled to August 20th.”

Fans were quick to share their thoughts in the comments section, with some criticizing the artist and his team for the delayed notification.

“4 hours before the game is not fair,” one follower wrote. “The team knew tonight’s game wasn’t going to be played so why announce it so late? We drove from Sacramento and paid for a hotel and everything else. So disappointing.”

“This is my second time going to one of his concerts and it ended up being cancelled,” another commented. “So frustrating having made plans and spent all my money to get there (non-refundable) and then it gets cancelled again. I wish they’d let me know 24 hours in advance instead of 3. It would make me feel better.”

Just hours before he was scheduled to take the Las Vegas stage on Aug. 7 to end a 13-year run, the performer announced the show was canceled.

“I am truly disappointed that I cannot join you in celebrating the 200th performance,” Stewart said in a statement on social media.

“Most people can work with strep throat, but obviously I can’t. It’s really disappointing. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for a long time.”

The 79-year-old rock star continued, “I deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused. Thankfully, I will be performing again in 2025 and hope to see you all there.”

Stewart was scheduled to perform on August 7th, but British singer He announced earlier in the morning that he would return to the iconic Las Vegas venue for an “encore show” in 2025.

“Vegas was too fun for it to end so we’ll be back for an encore!” Stewart shared on Instagram.

“Don’t miss the encore shows at our Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace March 12-22 and May 29-June 8! Tickets go on sale Monday at 10am PST!”

In a recent interview US Sun, Stewart explained that as she plans to continue performing, she is taking safety precautions to stay healthy.

He said: “The older you get, the more you have to do that. Water has a lot to do with it. But no. You think I’m just putting water on? You’re talking to Rod Stewart. We’re a blast after every show. There are 13 of us, six of us are women, and we’re all really incredible musicians. I make them drink water. I love it.”
