Rollins Predicts a Soon-to-Happen Egg Price Drop!

Rollins says price drop for eggs is ‘coming’

Agriculture Secretary Brook Rollins noted that egg prices have already impacted certain regions in the country and will continue to do so elsewhere.

During her appearance on CNN’s “Coalition Status” on Sunday, Rollins emphasized the significance of egg prices, which serve as a crucial economic indicator.

In March, the price of eggs reached $6.23 per dozen, despite positive commentary suggesting the Trump administration would thrive under President Trump’s leadership.

“When the president was inaugurated, egg prices surged by 237% during the previous administration,” Rollins stated.

“Analyzing the wholesale prices of eggs that influence retail prices, retailers will soon adjust — wholesale prices have dropped by 58% over the last six weeks,” she explained.

She mentioned that in certain regions, retail prices for eggs have experienced a “notable” decrease.

“Some areas have yet to see this change, but it is on the way,” Rollins added.

Upon taking office in January, the president often highlighted that egg prices were “sky-high,” claiming that they are now decreasing.

As Rollins pointed out on CNN, the Agriculture Department reported that wholesale egg prices decreased in March, but consumer prices have not fully adjusted.

This year, prices have increased due to the Avian flu outbreak, which prompted farmers to cull millions of chickens to inhibit the virus’s spread.

In February, Rollins detailed “five strategies” aimed at reducing egg prices, partially utilizing some of the department’s funds to seek long-term solutions for avian flu.

By late March, Rollins revealed that the administration was importing millions of eggs from Türkiye and South Korea to lower costs in the US.
