Romeo Dubs will be absent from the Packers until the weekend.
On Saturday, general manager Brian Gutekunst announced that the wide receiver would be suspended from Sunday's game against the Rams because he had “adversely impacted the team” this week.
Douce missed practice Thursday and Friday in Green Bay because he was “angry about his chances in the passing game.” Bill Huber reported Friday night.covering the Packers in the Sports Illustrated domain.
“Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend Romeo for this week's game.” Gutekunst's statement reads: “His decisions and actions that week reflected negatively on the team and we needed to take this action. We are certainly disappointed, but confident we can move forward positively. Romeo He is a valued member of our team and we look forward to welcoming him back next week.”
Mr Douce had previously been listed as a suspect due to personal matters.
The Packers were reportedly “concerned for Dubs' safety” after he was absent on Thursday, and a team representative was then sent to check on Dubs at his home.
The 2022 fourth-round pick to Green Bay was expected to replace wide receiver Christian Watson this week, as he is likely to miss Sunday's game with an ankle injury.
However, Aaron Nagler, who has been watching the Packers for many years, said, guessed Dubs' mood may come from figuring out this week's game plan, which was solidified during Wednesday's practice.
Dubs' situation with the Packers is reminiscent of the team's situation with Jaire Alexander last year. The cornerback was suspended for claiming he was the team captain during the pregame coin toss in a game against the Panthers.
As a result, Carolina almost got the ball first in each half.
Things have since been resolved, and Alexander was designated for pick against the Titans this season.
Daus ranks third in the Packers' wide receiver room so far with 20 targets, just two fewer than reliable pass catchers Jaden Reed and Dontaevion Wicks.
This season, he has 12 receptions and 169 yards.
Last season, the fourth-year receiver had 59 receptions for 674 yards and eight touchdowns in 16 starts.
