Ron Klain Blames Donors for Biden Ending Reelection Campaign

Ron Klain, a former chief of staff to President Joe Biden, on Sunday blamed donors and Democrats for Biden’s decision to drop out of the presidential race and called on the party to unite around Vice President Kamala Harris.

Klain released the statement shortly after Biden announced on Sunday that he would not seek reelection.

“Serving as your president has been the honor of my life,” Biden said in a statement. “While I intended to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and our country that I step down and focus solely on fulfilling the duties of my presidency for the remainder of my term.”

In a later statement, he called on Democrats to unite around Vice President Harris.

“I fully support and endorse Kamala to be our party’s nominee this year,” he said.
