Ronaldo Dines with Trump and Saudi Crown Prince

Soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted enjoying dinner at the White House on Tuesday night, just as President Donald Trump was hosting Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

During this gathering, it was noted that Ronaldo, who was in the U.S. for a sports event after nearly a decade, got a nod of support from President Trump. “My son is a big fan of Ronaldo,” Trump remarked while addressing a group that included notable figures like Tesla’s Elon Musk and Apple’s Tim Cook. “And the Baron got to meet him. I think introducing you has made him respect me a bit more. Thanks for being here; it’s truly an honor.”

Ronaldo later shared his thoughts on Trump, describing him in an interview with Piers Morgan as someone who could “help change the world.” This is quite a statement coming from one of the most recognizable athletes globally.

Currently, Ronaldo plays for Al Nasr in Saudi Arabia’s Professional League and has recently extended his contract with the club for two more years, a deal reported to be worth over $400 million. Quite astonishing, isn’t it?

With Portugal qualifying for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, Ronaldo is gearing up for his sixth World Cup appearance next summer, alongside Argentina’s Lionel Messi. They will both make history as the first players to compete in six Men’s World Cups.

Ronaldo mentioned that he believes this will “definitely” be his last World Cup with Portugal, following a disappointing outcome in the last tournament against Morocco, which raised questions about his future in international soccer.

After moving from Manchester United, his transition to the Saudi Pro League surprised many. Yet, he seems to be relishing his role, also serving as an ambassador for the kingdom’s tourism sector. Meanwhile, Trump, who shares a deep interest in soccer, has been active in promoting the sport, especially with the preparations for next year’s World Cup set to be hosted in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

In a recent announcement, Trump introduced the FIFA Pass, aimed at simplifying visa applications for World Cup ticket holders worldwide. He expressed that his administration is determined to make the tournament a massive success, boasting record ticket sales.

The World Cup is set to kick off on June 11, 2026, and will conclude on July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It sounds like it’s going to be a remarkable event for soccer fans alike.
