Country Singer Rushed to Hospital After Performance

Ronnie McDowell, the country music star, was taken to the hospital on Saturday following an incident during his performance at the Pennsylvania Summer Solstice Music Festival, where he reportedly slurred his words.

His son, Tyler Dean McDowell, shared an update on Monday, noting that Ronnie was on his way home after several days in the hospital. Tyler mentioned that his father underwent a medical evaluation that morning, according to a representative speaking to Fox News Digital.

“Dad’s in the car, we’re heading home! Ronnie Dean and I will provide an update soon,” Tyler posted on Facebook.

McDowell’s tour manager explained that during the performance, around three or four songs in, things started to go “make no sense,” prompting them to stop the show and get Ronnie checked out. Allegedly, McDowell felt unwell and indicated he might have experienced a stroke.

In a message shared in the evening, Ronnie Dean McDowell Jr. highlighted that further imaging would be done but conveyed that things were looking better so far. He expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support, asking for understanding as they dealt with the overwhelming number of messages coming in.

McDowell, who soared to popularity in the 1970s with his hit “The King Is Gone”—a tribute to Elvis Presley—had a string of successful albums and songs between 1979 and 1986. Some of his popular tracks include “Aged Woman,” “You’re Gonna Ruin My Bad Reputation,” and others like “Watchin’ Girls Go By” and “New York Minute.”
