A Florida woman has been charged with murdering her roommate who disappeared in Orlando on Christmas Day 2022, police said.
Giselle Victoria-Gonzalez, 42, was arrested Thursday in Connecticut and charged with second-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence, and grand theft in connection with the disappearance of Lunaleidi Medina-Pacheco, also 42. Ta.
Almost two years after she was last seen, Medina Pacheco's body has still not been found. According to Orlando Police.
According to police, Victoria Gonzalez contacted police on Dec. 27, 2022, to report that she had not seen her roommate in two days.
But as law enforcement investigated the case, detectives found “numerous inconsistencies” in Victoria Gonzalez's version of events.
Police announced that a search warrant was executed at the residence where the two men lived and “significant evidence was recovered indicating that a violent incident had occurred.”
After an investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies at the local, state, and federal levels, detectives determined that Victoria Gonzalez resided in Hartford, Connecticut.
Orlando police went to her residence in Connecticut, questioned her, determined there was probable cause to charge her with Medina-Pacheco's death, and she was taken into custody.
Video of the arrest posted by OPD shows Victoria Gonzalez, wearing a bright red dress, being led down a hallway by officers.
Authorities have not released any further details about Medina Pacheco's disappearance.
