Rory McIlroy discusses his coolness towards a LIV Golf star at the PGA Championship.

Rory McIlroy Reflects on Recent Masters Experience

Rory McIlroy is feeling rejuvenated after achieving his career grand slam by clinching the Masters, solidifying his status in the golf world. Recently, he was asked about the cooler-than-usual interaction he had with Bryson DeChambeau during the Masters as they both gear up for the PGA Championship at Quazur Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina. They were paired together for the final round at Augusta, where DeChambeau noted that McIlroy hardly spoke to him.

When addressing this with reporters, McIlroy shrugged it off, saying, “I’m not sure what he was expecting. We were both focused on winning the Masters. It’s not like I was aiming to be his best friend.” He emphasized that every player has their own way of approaching the game. “I was concentrating on what I needed to do. It wasn’t a personal thing; just something I felt necessary to maximize my performance that day,” he explained.

Meanwhile, DeChambeau remarked last month that McIlroy appeared to be very much in the zone. Despite any tension, McIlroy celebrated a milestone by completing his career slam, marking his first win at Augusta National after edging out Justin Rose in an intense playoff.

McIlroy is now looking ahead to capture his third PGA Championship title, having previously won in 2012 and 2014. His focus remains steadfast as he prepares for the upcoming tournament.
