Rory McIlroy sings boozy karaoke with Shane Lowry after PGA Tour win

Rory McIlroy knows how to party.

The Northern Ireland golf star chugged Michelob Ultra and belted out the lyrics to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” with a live band in front of a swaying crowd at team event Zurich Classic in New Orleans on Sunday. They sang and celebrated their victories. Dear golf fans.

The PGA Tour posted a video on its social media channels after McIlroy and teammate Shane Lowry won at TPC Louisiana.

The duo defeated Chad Ramey and Martin Trainer in a playoff to win the Zurich Classic, giving McIlroy his 25th PGA Tour win and his first of the season.

McIlroy made a great pitch on the 72nd hole, converting Lowry’s short birdie putt to clinch a playoff in the only team event on the PGA Tour this season.

Trainor missed a 6-foot par putt, giving McIlroy and Lowry the win and sparking a boozy celebration Sunday.

“It’s great to win a PGA Tour event, but to win with a close friend of mine, someone I’ve probably known for over 20 years,” McIlroy said, according to the Associated Press. “To think about where we met and where we came from and to be on this stage and do this together is a really, really amazing journey that we’ve been a part of.”

In another posted video According to the PGA Tour, the pair were seen walking through the parking lot after their victory, led by a New Orleans-style brass band.

Another video shows McIlroy chugging a beer on stage in front of a crowd of golf fans.

“Thousands of people came out to support us. I don’t forget how cool that was,” McIlroy said of the crowds that gathered during the tournament. “Every time I play in front of thousands of people, the boy in me just thinks it’s so cool and so exciting.”

It was a fitting celebration, considering McIlroy previously told Golf.com’s Claire Rogers that he asked Lowry to partner with him. A “really drunk lunch” after the Ryder Cup.

Lowry previously teamed up with Padraig Harrington, who is currently playing on the Champions Tour.
