Talk on Tuesday The Guardian of LondonMcIlroy told the outlet he had settled the matter with his wife, Erica Stoll, and the case is now closed, according to court documents obtained by ESPN.
“There have been recent rumours circulating about my personal life, which is unfortunate,” McIlroy said in a statement, according to The Guardian. “Reacting to each rumour would be foolish. Over the past few weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future lies together as a family. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to new beginnings.”

After the divorce news, many assumed Rory would buckle up and return to single life, especially following the rumors with Amanda Balionis…

However, that didn’t actually happen, so this update wasn’t all that surprising when we first saw it.
Rory has looked out of form and off since winning the Wells Fargo Classic, and has become practically irrelevant on tournament leaderboards. Something is clearly going on with him, and I think I may have found the answer.
McIlroy missed his wife… and there’s nothing wrong with that.
