Rory Masiloi’s Postmasters victory walk greeted a long line of friends, family and supporters It consisted of a long embrace with an unexpected person.
About five minutes after McIlroy defeated Justin Rose to sink the putt in the playoffs, he embraced his wife, daughter and many other important figures, and he began his championship walk after hugging the woman for about 12 seconds.
The woman was Justin’s wife, Kate Rose. McIlroy went toe toe with Mashaw until his final stroke at Augusta National on Sunday.
“I’m really, really happy,” Rose’s wife was able to hear her tell McIlroy while sharing her emotional moments.
McIlroy and Rose are longtime Ryder Cup teammates and are likely to run it again later this year, so McIlroy and the Rose family are no strangers.
Rose and his wife were all in class showing love for longtime friends like McIlroy.
“I gave it all.” Rose posted to X after Masters concluded. “Congratulations [McIlroy] About victory [the Masters] Complete the Grand Slam. It’s super cool to share the green with you at that moment. ”
The playoff loss was the second in Rose’s Masters career as he took things away in a sudden death with Sergio Garcia in 2017.
Rose was also the runner-up in the final major before the Masters.
Still, Rose continues to hold her head high.
“It doesn’t make sense to be too discouraged about it. You see all the good things that have caught me in this situation. You can’t skip careers without a bit of a heartache,” he said after finishing second in the Masters. “It’s going to happen. If you’re willing to lift a big championship, you need to put yourself in the line. You have to risk feeling this way to get the other way. It’s all going out the net.”
