‘Roseanne’ star John Goodman shows off fit physique in NYC after 200-pound weight loss

“Roseanne” alum John Goodman’s slim physique was on full display when he was recently spotted at New York City’s John F. Kennedy Airport.

The 71-year-old actor previously revealed to Rolling Stone that he has lost more than 200 pounds since first starting his health journey in 2007.

On Tuesday, the Emmy winner showed off his toned physique while strolling through the airport with his wife of 35 years, Anna Beth.

Goodman wore a blue sweatshirt under a black shirt, an olive green jacket, khaki pants, and beige Hoka sneakers.

Anna Beth wore a white blouse, black flared leg pants, white sneakers and pulled a pale pink carrier bag.

The couple, who married in 1989, have a daughter, Molly Evangeline, 33.

In a 2023 interview with Rolling Stone, Goodman talked about how he’s been maintaining his weight loss after returning to work full-time following the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It was just going outside and walking the dog,” he told the outlet. “Before that, I was boxing, but since coronavirus I haven’t been able to do that because I’m lazy.

“I haven’t been working out, but this summer I’m going to start getting back into the routine of getting things done,” he continued. “I’ve been letting go of everything just because I didn’t have the energy because of work.”

In addition to his role in the hit Roseanne spinoff The Conners, Goodman also stars in the dark comedy crime series The Righteous Gemstones.

The Missouri native told the outlet that he has enjoyed boxing since he started many years ago, but that he had stayed away from sparring until now.

“Nobody’s going to get hurt, but they’re just going to hit the mitts and learn,” he said. “He’s never been good enough to believe in himself and spar because once he gets punched in the face, you don’t know if he’s going to lose or not.

“But I’d like to get that good someday. But it’s usually just an hour, an hour and a half of hitting the mitts, hitting the bag, learning footwork, and that’s great. ”

Goodman, who once weighed nearly 400 pounds, previously spoke about her dramatic weight loss in a 2016 interview with ABC News.

Goodman has also been open about his struggle with alcoholism. After 30 years fight addictionHe got sober in 2007.

“In the past, I would take three months off, lose 60 or 70 pounds, then treat myself to a Bud six-pack or something and go back to my old habits,” he told the magazine. In 2010, after losing her first 100 pounds, Goodman revealed in an interview with People magazine that she had made some drastic changes to her lifestyle.

Goodman hired Mackie Shilstone, a health coach who has coached athletes such as Serena Williams, the newspaper said. They cut sugar out of his diet and added six workouts a week to get Goodman in shape and slim. The actor said, “I’m sweating, but I’m not going crazy.”

He also admitted, “It takes a lot of creative energy to sit in a chair and think about what you’re going to eat next. … I wanted to live better.”
