Rosie O'Donnell forecasts that Trump will not complete his term in a CNN interview

Rosie O’Donnell on Trump’s Future

Rosie O’Donnell, a notable critic of Donald Trump, shared her thoughts on whether he would stick to his claim of leaving the country before the 2028 election. When asked about this during an appearance on CNN’s “The Read with Jake Tapper,” she speculated that Trump “won’t be around that long.”

O’Donnell gave a rather pointed assessment of Trump’s health, suggesting that signs of decline are apparent to those willing to see them. “Doctors can provide insights into his condition,” she noted, implying that his situation is clearer than some might think.

Tapper pressed further, referring to Trump’s past comments about returning when it’s safe for all Americans. He asked if that would coincide with Trump’s departure from office in January 2029 or depend on the results of the next election. O’Donnell replied, “Honestly, I don’t think he’ll live that long.” She asserted that the issues surrounding Trump’s health are evident and that anyone not noticing them is perhaps ignoring the facts.

O’Donnell also referenced a recent NATO summit in Turkey, where Trump mistakenly called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy “Putin.” She compared this kind of mistake to those one might make at a family gathering, saying, “You wouldn’t let Grandpa cut the turkey if he keeps making such errors; it could be dangerous.”

Tapper agreed, bringing up Trump’s bizarre reference to Iran as the “Islamic Republic of Japan.” O’Donnell echoed this sentiment, saying, “There’s a clear awareness of his issues.”

In January 2025, O’Donnell moved to Ireland with her son, partly due to her discontent with the political landscape following Trump’s re-election. This decision stemmed from a long-held feud with the former president. Since her move, Trump has criticized her on social media, claiming she poses a threat to the country and suggesting he might pursue revoking her citizenship.

In June, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel mentioned that he had invited O’Donnell to guest host his show during his break, calling it a special treat for Trump.

O’Donnell is set to host Kimmel’s show for one week starting August 17th, marking her return to a more public platform.
