A controversial Olympic gold medalist who allegedly failed multiple gender tests has named author J.K. Rowling and entrepreneur Elon Musk in a criminal harassment complaint.
Imane Kherif never lost a round against other women at the Olympics, easily winning the gold medal in the women’s 66 kg division.
However, both the International Boxing Association and the World Boxing Organization have determined that Kherif is biologically male, and Spain’s Olympic boxing coach also said during a training camp that Kherif was too strong to fight other women.
Following strong international condemnation, Kherif filed a criminal complaint calling on French authorities to investigate online harassment targeting the fighter regarding his gender and image.
“Because Trump tweeted, he will inevitably be investigated, whether or not he is named in our lawsuit.”
The complaint was submitted to the Paris Office for Combating Online Hate Speech, in which Kherif claimed to be the victim of cyber harassment.
It was later revealed that both Rowling and Musk faced criminal charges for “alleged abusive cyber harassment.”

Khelif’s lawyer, Nabil Boudi, said: Variety The complaint was not filed against specific individuals to “ensure that prosecutors have sufficient discretion to investigate anyone,” including people who may have written the anonymous messages.
The lawyer also said Donald Trump would also be involved in the investigation.
“Mr. Trump tweeted it, so it’s inevitable that he will be investigated by prosecutors, whether or not he is named in our case,” Bowdy said.
Trump’s apparent attack was drawing a message from the match with Carini: “I’m going to take men out of women’s sports!”
Boudy continued, “What we are asking is for the prosecutor’s office to investigate not only these people, but anyone they deem necessary. Once this case goes to court, they will be brought to justice.”
The lawyers also argued that the case “may target individuals abroad” and that French prosecutors “may possibly [making] Requesting mutual legal assistance with other countries.”
The threat is similar to comments made by British law enforcement who have said they will “pursue” US citizens who make statements they consider to be anti-immigrant hate speech, and have threatened that authorities may even seek to extradite Musk.
