Royal Rumble: Roman Reigns and Liv Morgan depart Saudi Arabia as contenders for the title

WWE Royal Rumble Highlights

On Saturday night, WWE saw two of its superstars secure championship matches at the upcoming WrestleMania 42. Liv Morgan emerged victorious in the women’s Royal Rumble, while Roman Reigns celebrated his win in the men’s match.

For Morgan, this triumph is particularly significant as it represents a remarkable comeback after an injury that kept her out for most of the latter half of 2025. Earlier, she had clinched the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Raquel Rodriguez following WrestleMania 41 but then suffered a dislocated shoulder. It’s quite a journey, really. After five months away from the ring, she made her return during Survivor Series: War Games.

In securing the Rumble victory, Morgan had to temporarily set aside her friendship with Rodriguez, eliminating her Judgment Day stablemates along the way. The final stretch of the match featured Morgan, Tiffany Stratton, and Sol Luka battling it out. Morgan’s winning move involved a modified Oblivion on Stratton, which saw her claim the match. Now, she’ll be looking to face either Jade Cargill or Stephanie Vaquel for the title. However, it’s worth noting that Vaquel is scheduled to compete against Rodriguez soon.

As for Roman Reigns, he entered the Rumble at position 26 and eliminated five opponents to secure his victory. Alongside him in the top nine were notable names like Logan Paul and Jey Uso. One of the critical moments included Reigns dealing with Jacob Fatu while Drew McIntyre, who had earlier defended the Undisputed WWE Championship, eliminated another contender, Rose. It’s fascinating how quickly the tides turned, allowing Reigns to capitalize on the chaos.

The match ultimately came down to Reigns and Gunther, both of whom had shown exceptional skill. They fought fiercely, exchanging blows around the ring. In the decisive final moments, Reigns managed to launch Gunther over the ropes, claiming his second win at the Royal Rumble.

Looking ahead, Reigns is set to face either McIntyre or CM Punk for the title, following a triple threat match involving Seth Rollins at last year’s WrestleMania. It’s intriguing to see how these storylines will unfold as we move closer to the big event.
