Sen. Ruben Gallego Critiques Democratic Party in Leaked Texts

In an unexpected turn of events, leaked text messages from Senator Ruben Gallego, a potential candidate for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, have surfaced. In these messages, he expresses disappointment with his party, claiming that it has become excessively preachy and isn’t allowing “men to be men.”

Gallego, who represents Arizona, voiced his frustration over the public release of his private conversation with a long-time friend. He remarked that the Democratic Party no longer feels like a cohesive group that embodies the spirit of “sex, drugs, and rock and roll.”

At one point in the texts, he remarked, “Now Democratic women look like Democratic men, and Democratic men look like women,” reflecting his discontent with the current state of the party.

The senator’s friend had initially playfully suggested that someone with a well-thought-out plan could lead the Democratic Party. In response, Gallego asked, “Oh, have you met my party?” suggesting that he had been voicing his concerns for some time.

A friend sent him a meme that featured Representative Rosa DeLauro, equating her to a face of erectile dysfunction. Gallego found it amusing and agreed, saying, “They’re not wrong!” He also mentioned that the party appears uninteresting, noting the tendency to correct people constantly.

Gallego asserted, “I won’t tolerate men and men,” while adding, “Women should be hot,” emphasizing what he believes the party has lost. He reminisced about a time when the party embodied a wilder, more rebellious youth culture.

It remains unclear who the recipient of Gallego’s texts was, but after the messages circulated, he accused his friend of trying to take advantage of the situation.

Feeling betrayed, Gallego described it as “deeply heartbreaking” that someone he trusted for two decades would expose such private exchanges, yet he maintained that his opinions regarding the party’s direction were consistent.

In addressing the leak, he emphasized the importance of being an inclusive party, stating that his thoughts have always aligned with this belief. Gallego, a former Marine, was elected to the Senate last year after a decade in the House.

Earlier this year, he stirred some controversy by acknowledging the “legitimate” concerns of parents regarding trans women participating in women’s sports, stating that it was a natural concern for parents to prioritize safety and fair competition.

Recently, he has made appearances in important early voting states like Iowa and New Hampshire as he prepares for discussions about the upcoming presidential election.
