Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “All in” that Secretary of State Marco Rubio is acting “illegally and illegally” on behalf of President Donald Trump.
Discussing Turkey’s national Rumeysa Ozturk, Markey said: Neither the accusations nor the lawyers nor the evidence that we are currently in the United States. ”
He continued. “Firstly it is a violation of Article 1, a violation of freedom of speech in the first amendment. It is not a consumable item. It is a violation of the due process in the fifth amendment. It is not a consumable item. In fact, both are essential to have a constitutional government.
Markey added: “The victims of people like Rumeysa and Mahmood, as well as many others who suffer because of this authoritarian, illicit, authoritarian government, are governing the laws that have governed our nation, which returned to the Patriot 250 years ago in Lexington and Concord, 250 years ago.”
