Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who was reportedly being considered as former President Donald Trump’s running mate, said he would be “honored” to take office but has not heard anything from the Trump campaign.

Rubio, a Republican from Florida, said Thursday that being given the opportunity to be the president’s running mate would be a “great opportunity to serve our country.”

“If anyone is given the opportunity to be vice president, they should consider it an honor and a great opportunity to serve our country,” Rubio said Thursday, according to Politico. “But that hasn’t happened. I haven’t talked to anyone in his campaign about it. I’ve never talked about it.” [Trump] Regarding the position of vice president. ”

Despite a history marked by competition and frequent bickering during the 2016 campaign, Rubio had nothing but good things to say about Trump.

Recent rumors that Rubio is being considered seem to come from the left, as he was left out of previous discussions about the Trump campaign’s short list of candidates.

Rubio on Thursday also shot down rumors circulating among Republicans that he has ambitions to become the conference’s chairman, flatly denying he is interested.
