Rudy Giuliani Hospitalized in Serious Condition
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has been hospitalized and is reported to be in serious but stable condition, a statement revealed on X on Sunday. Political strategist Ted Goodman, who has collaborated with Giuliani on a livestream show, shared the news about his hospitalization on Sunday evening.
“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently hospitalized in critical but stable condition,” Goodman posted. “He’s a warrior who has faced numerous challenges in life with incredible strength, and he’s fighting through this one too.” He also urged people to pray for Giuliani.
In his reaction, President Donald Trump expressed his admiration for Giuliani, calling him “the best mayor” in New York’s history. On Truth Social, he lamented, “Our great Rudy Giuliani, a true warrior and the greatest mayor New York City has ever had, is hospitalized and in critical condition. It’s tragic how he was treated by the radical left, and he was right about everything!” Trump commented about the election and various challenges Giuliani faced, ending with, “So sad!”
Todd Shapiro, speaking for current Mayor Eric Adams, stated that while political differences exist, this moment transcends politics. “On behalf of Eric Adams, I wish Rudy Giuliani strength, health, and a full recovery,” he remarked. Shapiro acknowledged Giuliani’s dedicated years of public service, including his leadership during the aftermath of 9/11.
The hospitalization comes about eight months following a severe car accident that Giuliani faced in New Hampshire. Reports at that time indicated he was assisting a woman fleeing a domestic violence situation when he was hit by another vehicle while driving on the highway. The crash involved significant damage, necessitating emergency response.
Michael Ragusa, Giuliani’s security chief, previously noted that he was “doing well and recovering.” He detailed Giuliani’s injuries, including a fractured thoracic vertebra and multiple lacerations. Ragusa also emphasized that the incident was not a targeted attack and urged respect for Giuliani’s privacy during recovery.
