Rugby Player Alev Kelter Kicked Out for Stomping on Australian Rival’s Head

US Rugby Star Aleph Kelter Sent Off for Dangerous Play

US rugby player Aleph Kelter was ejected from a match on Saturday during the US Women’s Squad Test against Australia after a serious incident that took place in the closing minutes of the game.

Kelter will not only be disqualified but is also facing a disciplinary hearing and likely a lengthy suspension.

This breach occurred in the 79th minute of the Pacific 4 Series test when referee Amy Barrett Talon ruled that Kelter had intentionally stomped on the head of Australian Centre Georgie Friedrich.

A video of the incident is available online.

The referee remarked into a hot microphone, “12 blue [Kelter], this is a severe and intentional act of foul play. You are being issued a permanent red card.”

It was made clear that Kelter had recklessly stamped on Friedrich’s head, highlighting the dangerous nature of her actions.

In rugby, particularly regarding foul play and head contact, there are stringent rules in place aimed at reducing the risks of concussions and other head injuries.

Kelter, an Olympian, has previously represented the United States and earned a bronze medal on the Olympic stage as well as at international rugby competitions.

Australia ultimately won the match with a score of 27-19.
