Runaway goats and sheep invade Virginia interstate highway after mysterious escape: cops

Get the herd out of here!

A herd of goats and sheep broke off from a Virginia farm and tried to flee on a busy interstate Wednesday, according to State Police in the Old Dominion state.

The fugitives from Chesapeake Farms broke out in the evening, somehow climbing over or bypassing a fence and onto Interstate 64 near the High Rise Bridge. police said on Facebook.

The ministry said the officers were “not joking” when they rushed to the rescue.

“Why did the goats and sheep sneak through the sound barrier near the farm?” the soldiers joked. “Apparently to see what’s on the other side.”

Police said nine four-legged fugitives, including a lamb, were rounded up by Chesapeake Animal Patrol and safely returned to a friendly farm.

No word on whether they were punished for doing something so bad.
