Russell Wilson and Ciara Enjoy Family Time Amid NFL Changes
Russell Wilson and Ciara are spending quality time with their family this offseason, especially as the Giants part ways with their veteran quarterback.
Over the weekend, Ciara, known for her hit “Dance With Me,” posted a series of pictures on Instagram showcasing their beach getaway with their children: Sienna Princess, 8, Wynn Harrison, 5, and Amora Princess, 2.
Her caption read, “Spring break and then some :).”
Wilson, 37, has yet to sign a free agent contract following his stint with the Giants, which lasted only one year.
On Monday, the Giants welcomed veteran quarterback Brandon Allen to their roster, alongside Jackson Dart and Jameis Winston.
Last season, Wilson struggled to maintain his position, starting the first three games but subsequently dropping in the depth chart.
Winston stepped up to support Dart during a series of injuries. Back then, Wilson expressed a strong desire to stay with the Giants, stating, “I want to see it through to the end. I’m not asking for release or anything like that. I want to be here.” He also expressed his passion for the game, noting, “…I still want to continue playing soccer. Of course I love soccer and I feel like I’m still figuring it out.”
Throughout the season, Wilson played in six games, accumulating 831 passing yards, along with three touchdowns and three interceptions.
Looking ahead, Wilson is seeking a new opportunity, but he has made it clear that retirement is not part of his plans.
In a March 3 interview, Wilson mentioned, “I definitely want to play for a few more years. For me, I think I always had a vision of getting to at least 40. The game is different now. Quarterbacks get hit hard, but there are certain rules that help.”
He reflected on his health and love for the game, saying, “I feel healthy. I feel great. But most importantly, do I love the game? Do I love studying? There’s a journey you have to be obsessed with. And I’m obsessed with that part.”
Brandon Allen, 33, has played in 19 games over his career, throwing for 1,882 yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions, most recently with the Titans.
Originally a sixth-round pick by the Jaguars in the 2016 NFL Draft, Allen has also played for the Rams, Broncos, Bengals, and 49ers.
