Russell Wilson Reacts to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Engagement
Russell Wilson, the quarterback for the New York Giants, expressed his joy over the recent engagement announcement between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. When asked about this news, he shared his genuine happiness for the couple, saying, “Yeah, that’s exciting for them, man. Obviously, I’m excited about them because I believe in love.”
Wilson has been married to the Grammy-winning artist Ciara since a private ceremony in July 2016. Together, they have three children: daughters Siena and Amora, a son named Win, and they also co-parent Ciara’s eldest son, Future, from her previous relationship.
Other athletes have also chimed in with their congratulations. Bijan Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons, who was interviewed after the engagement announcement, remarked, “I saw it before actually going in here. Congratulations to them, man. That’s great to be engaged.”
He went on to praise Kelce for his contributions to football and acknowledged Taylor’s significant cultural impact through her music. Meanwhile, Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, who maintain close ties with both Kelce and Swift, expressed their excitement on social media, with Brittany writing, “Two of the most real people meet and fall in love.” She even included a white heart emoji and a happy crying face.
Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt, added her thoughts too, saying, “Travis and Taylor’s engagement is kind of news that makes the world feel a little brighter. It’s a joy to see them step in at least once in a lifetime together.”
As part of the upcoming season, Wilson and Kelce will face off on the football field during the Giants’ home opener against the Chiefs at MetLife Stadium on September 21.
