Russian Duma speaker accuses US and EU of killing Alexei Navalny

The speaker of Russia’s lower house of parliament has accused the United States, the European Union, Britain and other groups of killing Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin made baseless accusations for a long time on social media and the messaging app Telegram.

“The responsibility for Mr. Navalny’s death lies with Washington and Brussels,” Borodin said, according to a translation by the Moscow Times. “Who will benefit today from Navalny’s death?”
