“A conditional dismissal is not appropriate. The second option, leaving you in custody, is giving you an unfair pass… You alone have turned a safe weapon into a deadly weapon. But for you, your husband will have a wife, and your little boy will have a mother,” New Mexico District Court Judge Mary Marlow Sommer told Gutierrez-Reed.
Mr Hatchin’s close friend Emilia Mendieta told the court in a victim statement: “Mr Halina’s death was the result of a massive systems failure…It all comes down to a very simple question: Why was there live ammunition on set? Was there? …That’s where Hannah Gutierrez-Reed failed Halina. It was her job to check the gun and check for bullets to make sure Halina was safe.”

He continues to refuse to take responsibility for his role.”
