Ryan Garcia arrested; posts bizarre rant calling himself ‘Ryan Spears’

Ryan Garcia is once again the talk of the boxing world, and it’s not because of what happened in the ring.

The 25-year-old boxer was arrested at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills on suspicion of felony criminal damage to property and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.

“I’m worried 🙁 I have to go to some weird hospital and they’re going to give me medicine but no one knows how long they’re going to keep me for. It’s up to them to decide,” Garcia wrote in X’s post.

Garcia ended the post by asking her followers to pray for her, writing, “God help me.” In another post, Garcia compared herself to Britney Spears and introduced herself as “Ryan Spears.”

“What the hell is going on with Ryan Garcia?” asks a stunned Jason Whitlock.

“I mean, think about what happened after he beat Devin Hayne,” Steve Kim began, “He knocked him out, knocked him down three times, won that fight by decision, but I think it was a tainted win.”

“After he failed a drug test, there’s all these conspiracy theories flying around about him, his father, Henry, my old friend. They’re blaming Victor Conte, they’re blaming VADA, they’re blaming the supplement companies. It’s all starting to fall apart,” Kim explains.

Garcia’s eccentricities alienate people like Kim, but attract others.

“They were able to manipulate certain members of the media and the YouTube community, and they basically followed him because he was useful, because he would bring them hits,” Kim said.

Garcia has been vocal about his own mental health issues in the past and said he wants to be an advocate.

“Yet whenever you mention his mental state in past matches, he’ll say, ‘No, no, I’m not crazy. You’re not allowed to criticize me.’ This was all an act. I mean, we’re talking about a mental health advocate who made fun of his mental state in the name of promoting a match,” Kim explained, adding, “Get your story straight.”
