Ryan Seacrest is well aware of the huge task he has to take on the Wheel of Fortune from Pat Sajak.
“He had a huge impact on this entire country. He became a peer and a close friend to so many,” Seacrest said at the “American Idol” Top 10 at the Astor Hotel in Hollywood. told Fox News Digital at a Tastemaker event.
“I have so much respect and admiration for what he’s accomplished so far. He’s a total professional. There’s nothing more smooth and seamless than his putting.”
Seacrest has revealed that while he wants to put his own spin on the classic show, there’s one thing he won’t try. “Nobody can replace him. I just want to be involved and keep having fun with the contestants.”
Sajak announced his retirement from “Wheel of Fortune” last year after appearing on the show for 43 years and 41 seasons.

Later that month, Seacrest was announced as Sajak’s replacement.

According to Deadline, Sajak taped its final episode earlier this month, with an air date of Friday, June 7, coinciding with the season 41 finale.
The first time fans saw Seacrest on set this month was when a 10-second clip aired. The footage showed him walking around near where the contestants were standing, looking around in awe and saying, “Wow!”
His name then appeared on the board and Vanna White told him, “Looks like you’re ready, Ryan!”
The ad ends with the announcer saying, “Ryan Seacrest will be joining Vanna White on ‘Wheel of Fortune’ this fall.” New host, same location. ”
White recently appeared on an episode of American Idol that was teased on Seacrest’s Instagram as “the TV crossover you never knew you needed.”
He also called her “legendary” and added, “A glimpse of exciting things to come!”
White and Seacrest introduced the finalists together during an episode that aired earlier this month. In a behind-the-scenes clip shared by White on Instagram, Judge Luke Bryan joked about working with Seacrest: “Are you ready to tolerate him?”
Fellow judge Lionel Richie pointed out that he and White started out in the entertainment industry together.
“I can guarantee you both, it’s going to be a lot of fun,” Richie said.
Seacrest has hosted “American Idol” since the show began in 2002, and has appeared on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” and appeared on “E! News” and “Dick. Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. But he’s excited to do something a little different.
“The important thing is to have fun on stage. The difference with ‘Wheels’ or ‘Idol’ is that we’re handing out cash and prizes,” he explained to FOX News Digital. “Here we give away the future of music. There’s cash and prizes to be won. We can’t wait!”
“American Idol” is currently undefeated by Seacrest, but judge Katy Perry is scheduled to leave the show after the season ends.
“She brought an incredible sense of generosity, love, big heart, and that kind of spirit to the show, and I hope that whoever comes on board will have the same impact,” Seacrest said.
The 49-year-old said he did not know who would replace Mr. Perry.
“There are several people at the top of that shortlist who could be great people,” he said. “But we hope to make that decision soon.”
As “Idol” reaches its final season and the top 10 contestants are chosen, Seacrest acknowledged that the boundaries of expectations in the music world are narrowing.
“It’s hard to say that because I have to stand next to them every week, right? I can’t pick a favorite yet,” he said when asked if there was a front-runner.
“But I will say this. It was tough saying goodbye to both of them. The two games we lost tonight were great. It’s hard to understand how and why it happened, but it needed to happen. and proceed here.”
