Ryder Cup snub spurns PGA Tour for LIV Golf in last-second move

When Jon Rahm left the PGA Tour for LIV Golf last month, it seemed like a sign of things to come. Well, it looks like that idea has come true.

Adrian Mellonk, a four-time DP World Tour winner, finished second to Rory McIlroy at last week's Dubai Desert Classic. reportedly signed According to the London Times, the research is a collaboration with Martin Kaymer's CreekSteam.

This is another blow to the PGA Tour, as more and more of the world's top players are joining the rival Saudi league.

He was an exceptional golfer and many believed he would be part of the European Ryder Cup team this fall. Instead, Team Europe captain Luke Donald selected youngsters Ludwig Aberg and Nikolai Heugaard, two players who had strong marks on Melonk's resume.

The decision clearly worked out well for Europe, who easily defeated Team USA 16.5 to 11.5.

Nevertheless, that decision may or may not have influenced the Hamburg native's decision to jump ship.

Melonk was scheduled to play in the PGA Tour's Farmers Insurance Open this week at Torrey Pines. However, he withdrew just before the first round on Wednesday morning.

Interestingly, he may not be the only one with a Ryder Cup tie that LIV is targeting.Tyrrell Hutton reportedly Close to signing contract According to Sports Illustrated's Bob Harig, he will be withdrawing from the PGA Tour.

It's worth noting that Hatton was recently confirmed to play in the PGA Tour's flagship event, the WM Phoenix Open, in two weeks. It therefore appears that whether the British athlete will jump is still up in the air.
