Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher Finalize Divorce
Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have officially ended their marriage, more than a year after they first revealed their decision to split.
In a joint statement shared on their Instagram stories, they announced, “Our divorce is now finalized.” They expressed pride in their achievements together, reiterating their respect for one another and their commitment to co-parenting their children. They also requested that the media respect their children’s privacy.
Details regarding the terms of their divorce remain unclear at this time.
The couple, who had been married for nearly 14 years, first disclosed their separation in April of last year. At that time, they humorously stated, “After more than 20 years of long tennis matches, we’re finally putting down our rackets.” They emphasized their preference for privacy throughout the process.
Their statement concluded with a mention of their enduring love and dedication to their children, thanking their family for respecting their privacy during this transition.
This announcement followed reports that the couple had begun leading separate lives. A source mentioned that the British actor had met a Hollywood lawyer recently, although the formal divorce papers were filed in London, where they both reside.
Despite speculation about potential tension during the separation, insiders noted in February that the couple remained amicable as they worked through the details of their breakup. “Every divorce has its challenges, but things are going pretty smoothly between Isla and Sacha,” a source shared, highlighting how they prioritized their children in their announcements.
Fisher also spoke candidly about the challenges of divorce in an interview, referring to it as “the most difficult thing I’ve had.” She expressed that while the situation was unexpected, they remained devoted parents.
Baron Cohen and Fisher initially crossed paths in 2001 and married in 2010. They have three children together: two daughters and a son.
