Sadie Robertson Huff Faces Backlash Over TikTok Dance Video

Sadie Robertson Huff, a star from “Duck Dynasty: The Revival,” recently shared her experience with cancel culture after posting a TikTok dance video that led to unexpected criticism.

“I went through something that felt like cancel culture,” Robertson Huff remarked, stating she hadn’t really focused on the song involved in the video. This backlash seemed to materialize when she and her sister took part in a popular dance trend set to Beyoncé’s song “Texas Hold’em.”

The influencer, now 28, mentioned that she and her sisters are often engaged with social media trends. However, when they posted their video, it stirred up discomfort among viewers. “People had issues with the song and various factors, leading to a lot of negative comments directed at me,” she explained.

Much of the criticism hit harder for her because, surprisingly, it came from people she expected to support her more. “There was quite a bit of feedback from the church,” she noted, adding that rather than promoting unity, it seemed to enhance division and negativity. That was hard for her to accept.

In response, instead of remaining quiet, Robertson Huff decided to delete the video. She turned the experience into a broader dialogue about faith, responsibility, and forgiveness. “I thought it was important to explain why I removed it. It’s tempting for people on social media, especially in the midst of cancel culture, to just hide or delete posts and say, ‘I’m sorry, that wasn’t my intention.’ But I wanted to use it as a launchpad for a bigger conversation,” she said.

“It’s common to just hide or delete something and say, ‘Sorry, I didn’t mean it.’ But what I really wanted was to connect it to a broader conversation.”

Robertson Huff also emphasized that she hopes this will be a moment for Christians to learn more about offering grace instead of adding to judgment.

She urged everyone within the community to help support one another. “Sure, we have the responsibility to talk about each other’s lives, but we also need to uplift one another,” she expressed, reflecting on how quickly some people jump at the chance to celebrate another’s failure.

“It’s frustrating to see others almost happy when someone messes up. The reality is we’re all human,” she added, pointing to a key verse from 1 Corinthians 13, which reminds us that love does not find joy in wrongdoing but in the truth.

Robertson Huff shared that her family has been a source of strength despite public criticisms. She’s now using her platform to combat cynicism and cancel culture by leading with faith.

In her personal life, she recently welcomed a daughter, Kit, with her husband, Christian Hough. Adjusting to life as a mother of three hasn’t slowed her down; she remains active and engaged with her various projects.

“This past month has been a wild ride with Kit; she’s only two months old. But it’s been amazing,” she said, recalling that just weeks after Kit’s birth, she hosted the annual LO Sisters Conference, attracting over 4,000 young women for worship and connection.

“It felt wonderful to have gathered everyone, especially since we were doing it as a family,” she reflected.

Robertson Huff expressed that her parents, Willie and Cory, taught her the importance of merging family and faith even amid chaos. “They lived this out for us. We truly believe that whatever we’re called to do is a family calling, and I love including my daughters in those endeavors,” she remarked.

Since their marriage in 2019, the couple has welcomed two other daughters, Honey James and Haven Belle. While “Duck Dynasty: The Revival” Season 2 is in production, a release date remains unconfirmed. For now, fans can find all episodes of Season 1 available for streaming.
