Saints wideout Michael Thomas vulgarly lashed out at a beat writer who reported that the team would soon release him.
Nola.com’s Jeff Duncan reported Thursday. The Saints plan to waive Thomas at some point before the start of the new league season on March 13th.
Thomas, 31, heard the news and hit back at Duncan with an X.
“Jeff Duncan, it’s funny that they were going to let me go if I had a one-year contract.” Thomas tweetedadds three laughing emojis.
“Don’t be fooled, he’s the same guy who tried to be my friend during the season even though I told him in training camp we weren’t the same player. #NextTopic.”
Thomas escalated the issue with a second tweet.
“Jeff Duncan is a hoe. We’re trying to stay relevant, so let’s talk about it.” thomas wrote.
“The Saints leaked information to him in an attempt to damage the player’s value, but I can talk about it because I know I’m not bankrupt. You need to look at all his articles that are never true.”

Associated Press reported in March last year Thomas had agreed to a restructured one-year contract, so the wideout seems to insist that it was always the plan for him to become a free agent at this point. spot rack and on top of the cap Both contracts show that the Saints would have taken control of his rights if they had wanted him back.
Duncan turned to Thomas not just for reporting on his impending release, but also for the wideout and the Saints when he was arrested for criminal mischief in November and blamed Derek Carr in January. His comment was that this was the “last straw”. His season-ending injury became a hot topic on social media.
Thomas has been plagued by injuries in recent years, appearing in just 23 of the Saints’ 67 regular-season games over the past four years and even missing the entire 2021 season.
Last year, Thomas caught 39 balls for 448 yards and one touchdown in 10 games.
