Saints’ Paulson Adebo breaks femur in blowout ‘TNF’ loss to Broncos

Saints cornerback Paulson Adebo suffered a broken femur in the team's 33-10 loss to the Broncos on Thursday night and was dragged by a cart and taken by ambulance to New Orleans Regional Medical Center in the first half.

Adebo, 25, was injured trying to make a tackle in the second quarter. He remained on the field after the play and was carted off the field at Caesars Superdome.

Adebo was taken to a local medical center, part-time reporter Reported by Kaylee Hartung Speaking on Amazon Prime's “Thursday Night Football,” Saints head coach Dennis Allen later revealed that the fourth-year pro will undergo surgery.

“The tough thing about our league is we see situations like that,” Allen said. According to the Associated Press. “That might be difficult.”

The Saints have been plagued by injuries after starting the year 2-0.

Starting quarterback Derek Carr suffered an oblique injury in a loss to the Chiefs on Monday Night Football on Oct. 7 and has been sidelined for the past two games.

Rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler started in his place.

Star wide receiver Chris Olave missed Thursday's game after suffering a concussion in the Saints' Week 6 game against the Buccaneers, and fellow wideout Rashid Shahid underwent season-ending knee surgery this week.

“We have a lot of injuries at the moment, but that's no excuse. I don't want you to misconstrue that as an excuse, but it's a problem for us and we're all trying to get through it. I think so,” Allen said after the game. According to ESPN.

Adebo, a third-round pick out of Stanford in 2021, has started all seven games this season. Last season, he started 15 games.

The Saints (2-5) will play the Chargers (3-2) next Sunday.
