Sam Darnold Celebrates Major Life Milestones

In a whirlwind couple of months, Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold has added both a Super Bowl ring and a wedding ring to his collection.

After playing a key role in Seattle’s victory over the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, which ended 29-13, Darnold tied the knot with his fiancée, Katie Hoefnagle, this past Friday.

Hoefnagle took to her Instagram Story to share the news, posting a photo of her wedding ring with the simple caption, “By the way, I have a husband now.”

The wedding was a star-studded affair, with a number of NFL notables in attendance, including Josh Allen and his wife Hailee Steinfeld, Christian McCaffrey with Olivia Culpo, and Darnold’s Seattle teammate Cooper Kupp with Anne-Marie.

Interestingly, Allen and Steinfeld had just announced the arrival of their baby girl mere days earlier.

A source mentioned, “Hailey and Josh were really sweet on the dance floor, looking like they were having a great time.” It sounds like a fun celebration, with guests offering warm congratulations for the new parents as well.

Darnold and Hoefnagle shared their engagement on social media last July, featuring a picturesque moment captured near the beach in Dana Point, California. Darnold proposed with a striking radiant-cut diamond ring displayed on a pavé band.

Throughout the 2025 season, Hoefnagle proudly showcased her engagement ring while cheering for Darnold at Seahawks games.

On February 8, during the Super Bowl victory celebration, Darnold was overheard discussing their upcoming wedding with excitement. He mentioned to NBC broadcaster Maria Taylor, “I thought it was kind of weird to be thinking about the wedding, but I’m really excited. There’s just a lot to manage.”

After signing a three-year, $105 million contract with the Seahawks in March, Darnold was all smiles at the team’s Super Bowl parade in Seattle, clearly thrilled to celebrate both his sports and personal victories.
