Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold did enough to help his team win 27-24 against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
This was a must-win game for both teams to stay on pace in the race for their respective division titles. Minnesota needed to win to play the Detroit Lions, who had won earlier in the day, and Seattle needed to win to play the Los Angeles Rams, who had also won earlier in the day.

It was a Vikings game.
Seahawks veteran quarterback Geno Smith took the lead on AJ Barner's 4-yard touchdown pass with 4:21 left. It was an 11-play drive that lasted more than six minutes.
Darnold answered. In just four plays, Darnold managed to find Justin Jefferson around two Seahawks defenders and slip the ball through the narrowest of windows. Jefferson caught it and ran into the end zone for a touchdown.
A 39-yard touchdown pass gave the Vikings a three-point lead.

Seattle had a chance to tie the game. Jason Myers had an opportunity late in the game to give Seattle three points with a 60-yard field goal try. But it fell a few yards short and the Seahawks lost.
Darnold completed 22 of 35 for 246 passing yards and three touchdowns. Jefferson completed two of those three touchdown passes, with Jordan Addison completing the rest. Jefferson had 10 catches for 144 yards and Addison had five catches for 35 yards.
Smith was an extraordinary man. He completed 31 of 43 passes for 314 yards and three touchdown passes. The other touchdown passes were by Jackson Smith-Njiba and DK Metcalf.

Minnesota improved to 13-2 on the season. Seattle lost 8-7.
