The Department of Justice charges Apple with antitrust violations
According to the report, Apple’s shipments fell by about 10% and it lost its position as the world’s top mobile phone maker to Samsung in the first quarter of 2024.
Samsung had a 20.8% market share from January to March, followed by Apple with 17.3% and China-based Xiaomi with 14.1%, Reuters reported, citing data from research firm IDC. It became.

Overall, global smartphone shipments increased by 7.8% to 289.4 million units in the first quarter of 2024, the report added.
It also announced that shipments of Apple mobile phones in China in the fourth quarter of 2023 decreased by 2.1% compared to the same period last year.

At the Galaxy S24 launch event in January, Samsung’s artificial intelligence technology “Galaxy AI” built into its latest smartphone attracted attention. Samsung has revealed that it is launching what it calls a “new era of mobile AI.”
Samsung said it has introduced Galaxy AI in tools such as live translation for phone conversations and text messages, and interpretation for face-to-face conversations. The company says the AI in its new smartphones can also adjust the tone of messages, summarize notes, and transcribe voice recordings to text.
Also, Google’s feature that allows users to “circle, highlight, doodle, or tap anything on your Galaxy S24’s screen to see helpful, high-quality search results.” We also introduced “Circle to Search”.
The news comes as Apple lays off 614 employees in California following reports earlier this year that it was abandoning efforts to build electric cars.
