Police in San Diego, California are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who posed as a ride-share driver and allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in his vehicle.
The incident happened around 1:10 AM on March 15th, when a woman got into what she thought was her requested ride-share in the Pacific Beach area. Investigators reported that the man driving the car impersonated a female ride-share driver and drove her for a considerable distance.
It is said that he then assaulted her before she managed to escape.
After leaving the scene, the suspect’s whereabouts became unclear as the victim couldn’t recall which way he went.
According to police, the suspect is described as a mixed-race man with brown eyes, having an average to muscular build, shoulder-length curly hair, a prominent nose, along with a mustache and beard.
At the time of the assault, he was likely driving a red, four-door Toyota Prius from the 2022-2025 model range, or a similar vehicle.
Authorities are also looking to see if there are more victims who might have experienced similar assaults from this individual.
