On Sunday, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) pushed back a proposal from Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) and changed how Democrats are talking about President Trump and his administration, saying, “Americans aren’t as stupid as Slotkin thinks they are.”
Sanders was pressed in a television interview about his recent critique from Senate Democrat Caucus fellow Slotkin.

A spokesman for Slotkin did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the hill.
Slotkin, a former CIA analyst who worked in the House for six years, revealed some of his past progressive complaints, suggesting at last month’s town hall meeting that lawmakers like Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez “have a lot of words.”
The progressive lawmakers tour, which has been talked about Ocasio-Cortez’s political ambitions, has been praised for aiming to generate real debate across the United States about how to take over the interests of so many powers and influences in this country.
The duo has held other stops this year in states, including Montana, Idaho, Utah and Arizona. Their tour includes two events in Pennsylvania on Friday and Saturday.
Sanders said on Sunday, “The two-party system is failing for the working class in this country.” He pointed out healthcare, wages, and “a corrupt campaign finance system that allows billionaires to control both parties.”

Slotkin, who responded democraticly to Democrats’ joint speech earlier this year to Trump’s joint speech, said they should promote “taking the flag” from Trump and Republicans nationwide, throwing away what Democrats described as “weak and awakening” public opinion nationwide.
