Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vermont) has called on Vice President Mark Cuban to remove Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chair Lina Khan if she is elected president. publicly opposed.
in Posting on social platform XSanders said Cuban was “wrong” when calling for a new FTC chairman.
“Lina Khan is the best FTC chair in modern history,” Sanders wrote. “By fighting corporate greed and illegal monopolies, Lina is doing great work to prevent big companies from defrauding consumers and exploiting workers.”
Mr. Sanders thanked Mr. Khan for his work. His comments are below Cuban's statement I went to Semafor earlier this week.
“If it were me, I wouldn't do it,” Cuban said of excluding Khan from KFF events. “If we try to break up the biggest technology companies, we are putting our ability to be the best in artificial intelligence at risk.”
Cuban, a billionaire and former executive owner of the Dallas Mavericks, and other prominent business figures joined Harris' campaign to launch Business Leaders for Harris.
The group released testimony last week asserting Harris' claims. Cuban has been an outspoken critic of former President Trump.
Khan has faced criticism from many voices.
Some major Democratic donors are seeking the vice president to replace Mr. Khan, who has led the Biden administration's antitrust policy.
But some of Harris' other supporters have praised Khan. At a tech fundraiser in San Francisco last weekend dubbed “Little Tech for Harris,” executives praised Mr. Khan's efforts to break up big tech companies.
Sanders, a progressive, has supported the Biden administration's antitrust efforts to increase market competition.
