Santa Claus and Grinch street performers arrested after fighting over tips

They ended up on the naughty list.

Two Mexican street characters dressed up as Santa Claus and the Grinch faced off over chips while showing off the dark side of the Christmas spirit.

The two men were taking pictures with passersby in the central Mexican city of Aguascalientes when a scuffle broke out due to the obvious difference in their tips.

Local news outlets reported that one of the men became angry when he realized that the tourists were giving more money to the other characters. As the conflict escalated, onlookers, mostly tourists checking out Christmas displays in the city square, called the police.

A video of the aftermath of the fight went viral as police handcuffed the Grinch, who apparently still had a heart two sizes smaller.

St. Nick lay on the ground a short distance away and was being treated by paramedics, who also handcuffed him.

“I fell in love with the character,” one user commented on TikTok.

Christmas crimes, like the cage match between the Grinch and Klaus, are not uncommon during the holiday season.

Just two weeks ago, a pair of robbers dressed as Santa Claus broke into a store in Brazil and stole 33 mobile phones, five video games and a speaker.

Back in the United States, a high-tech toy company fell victim to a fraud during a holiday robbery that resulted in the loss of three truckloads of merchandise worth about $1 million.

People are even trying to take advantage of the holiday chaos to cause their own mischief that definitely won't make it onto the nice list.

A Canadian tried to smuggle 22 pounds of meth into New Zealand under the guise of a Christmas present. She had a total of $2 million worth of methamphetamine in her possession.
