Saquon Barkley fumes with ‘traitor’ rant after being booed by Knicks fans

Saquon Barkley gave an early preview of how the Eagles’ new running back will react when he plays against his former team this season.

After sitting courtside at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Arena during the Knicks’ Game 6 win over the 76ers alongside his new teammate and newly extended receiver AJ Brown, former The No. 1 pick mentioned the negative reaction he apparently received from an excited former fan base.

Barkley received some boos when he appeared on the jumbotron in the first quarter, but Photographed by WFAN.

“It’s been two months since then… (lol) There’s no way I’m still this angry! Mom can’t even go to the basketball game 😂😂😂” Mr. Berkeley tweeted.

There were financial and football reasons for Barkley to leave the Giants for the Eagles, but choosing to sign with a rival will always be met with criticism and scorn.

As fate would have it, the NBA playoffs pitted a team from his old city against a team from his new city, and Barkley, who grew up in Pennsylvania, attended Game 6 rooting for the 76ers.

Now, on the one hand, it is natural for him to inherently question why he cannot enjoy his life. He made a decision and moved on, and his fans should do the same.

On the other hand, with so many Giants fans rooting for the Knicks, seeing Barkley courtside at Wells Fargo instead of at MSG will probably evoke some emotion.

And those feelings are never fun.

Barkley’s tweet does not make clear whether he noticed the vitriol online or during the game.

The comments below Barkley’s aforementioned tweet are a mix of Eagles fans who can’t wait to see Barkley this season and Giants fans who are rooting for Barkley to do well.

It remains to be seen when Saquon Barkley will play against the Giants next season. AP

One of the respondents, a Mets fan, explained: Concisely state the anti-Berkeley argument.: “You bailed. In New York. Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.”

Barkley fired back at the user and explained why he left the Giants.

“Let me tell some fans here…” Mr. Berkeley tweeted. “If I don’t get an offer to come back, I can’t bail or be a traitor. So I went to the organization that I thought was the best. I’ve been here a month already and I’m excited to be an eagle.” ! Birds🦅

Barkley used this experience to say how excited he is to play at his new home stadium, Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles will open the season on September 6th against the Packers in Brazil, and they are the slight favorites with a 1.5 point lead.

“On a side note, the game was really shiny!! I fell in love with the home game at the rink😤” he posted.
